Want to become a 3D creator?

Blender is a free open source 3D package available to all. To get blender, head over to and get the software.

Once installed, go to file, import, .fbx and select the file you previously downloaded from . When importing, make sure you set the scale to 100. If you are using a different software, you might not have to set the scale to 100 - this is due to the differences in units between software products.

Once the file is imported, you will have a grey version of your Knittable ready to move. By dragging the corners of the viewport, you will be able to create a new window. In that new window, select “shader editor” from the top left icon. This will open the texture context, which will allow you to connect the textures to your Knittable.

Once the window is opened, select your Knittable by clicking on it in the viewport, or select it from the hierarchy panel on the right side.

It will open the material for you, where you can add the textures included in the texture folder.

Drag and drop the texture files from the folder and connect the output (dot) of the box, to the input(dot) of the corresponding feature. (Diffuse goes into Color, Metallic goes into Metalness, Roughness goes into Roughness and Normal goes into Normal through an already existing Normal node).

Once done, make sure that the Color space of the textures nodes (boxes) are set to “non-color” for Metalness, Roughness and Normal.

Last step is to change the view mode from “solid” to “preview” or “rendered” in order to display the textures you have just plug.

Press play and voilà! You just brought a Knittable to life in a few step !

Let's have fun!
